The musicians of Accademia del Piacere do more than just offer a historically informed interpretation of Spanish music in this program. Taking a more in-depth approach to the aesthetics and performance practice of Baroque music, they go further, seeking to recover every stage of the practice of musicians-instrumentalists from this epoch. Many of the works of past centuries did not exist merely as music written by its creators, but would be reborn in the hands of a new performer or for a new instrumentation, different from that for which it was created (especially regarding music for vihuela and organ). The new reading depended exclusively on the performers᾿ skill – an original work would be transformed through the addition of new voices, improvisation, varying different motifs, etc.
The uniqueness of its innovative projects and the strong personality of its artistic director have made Accademia del Piacere a vanguard group in Spanish early music, revealing to audiences the inimitable beauty of Spanish melodies.
