Open call: „Banchetto musicale“ Fringe Day Live 2026!

Dear friends of early music,

We are thrilled to announce the open call for Fringe Day proposals as part of the „Banchetto musicale“ Early Music Festival 2026!

Fringe Day will take place on 17 October 2026 in Vilnius at „Montis Magia Loft“ Climbing Center (Vytenio St. 50, Vilnius), featuring fresh and innovative performances by emerging early music artists. We welcome innovative and experimental early music projects that incorporate electronic music or explore connections with other genres.

Who can apply?

  • Soloists and ensembles specializing in early music.
  • Musicians aged 35 and under.

What to submit:

  • A high-quality audio recording (5–10 minutes).
  • A written concert proposal (approx. 60 minutes in length). 
  • A high-resolution photo.
  • A short biography.

The Festival offers Fringe musicians:

  • Performance in the Fringe programme at a special festival location.
  • One hour rehearsal time on location or in a rehearsal room on the day of the concert.
  • The selected soloist or ensemble will be awarded €700,00 (the fee is inclusive of all travel and accommodation expenses, which participants are responsible to arrange and cover themselves).
  • Large instruments such as keyboard instruments (harpsichord, virginal) can be provided (after consultation) by the festival.
  • Support by volunteers on location.
  • Increased exposure and visibility.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

„BANCHETTO MUSICALE“ Fringe Day Live

 

The Fringe offers young musicians (aged 35 and under) a chance to perform in the Festival „Banchetto musicale“. The admission for the audience is free.

Application for musicians:

We will process the applications of musicians/ensembles who:

  • Perform on historical instruments (specializing in early music).
  • Innovative and experimental early music projects that incorporate electronic music or explore connections with other genres are welcome.
  • Artists/ ensembles aged 35 and under.
  • Have properly, completely and on time filled in the application form, including the following:
  • A high-quality audio recording (5–10 minutes).
  • A written concert proposal (approx. 60 minutes in length). 
  • A high-resolution photo.
  • A short biography.

The Festival offers Fringe musicians:

  • Performance in the Fringe programme at a special festival location.
  • One hour rehearsal time on location or in a rehearsal room on the day of the concert.

Selection procedure:

  • The application deadline is 17 August 2026.
  • Performers for Fringe Day Live are selected by the organisers of the „Banchetto musicale“ Early Music Festival.
  • All applicants will be notified by email whether or not they have been selected.
  • Selected candidates may not make changes to the programme or to the composition of the performers/ensemble without prior approval from the festival organisers. Exceptions may be considered only in exceptional circumstances and must be agreed upon with the festival organisers in advance.
  • Applicants will be informed no later than 1 September whether they have been selected for Fringe Day 2026. If you do not receive a response by this date, please contact us by email.
